Perform inspection of complex, close tolerance machined parts and sub-assemblies with critical internal and external dimensions using all forms of conventional inspection equipment including CMM, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, optical comparator, height gauges etc.
Position Summary
Perform inspections of complex, close tolerance machined parts and sub-assemblies with critical internal and external dimensions using all forms of conventional inspection equipment in compliance with Miller CNC Quality Management System. Inspection scope includes raw material, in-process to full first article inspection using established inspection plans. Knowledge of inspection requirements associated with processing and finishing (heat treatment, anodize etc.) required. Inspection of final assembly items to customer/internal source control drawings also required.
Candidate must have excellent computer, verbal and written skills to provide and issue various reports, communication with customers and maintain documentation files.
Essential Job Functions
Perform inspection of complex, close tolerance machined parts and sub-assemblies with critical internal and external dimensions using all forms of conventional inspection equipment including CMM, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, optical comparator, height gauges etc.
Required Experience
• Strong accomplished experience as CMM operator and programmer
• Skilled in CMM operation and programming using PC-DMIS.
• Proficient with reading blueprints and knowledgeable in GD&T
• Excellent knowledge of inspecting highly complex machined parts in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Excellent computer and mathematical skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must have the ability to read / interpret purchase orders and engineering specifications
• Perform receiving inspection of materials and outsourced products/processes
• Perform first article inspection, in process inspection and final inspection
• Maintain tool calibration system and ensure all calibrated tools are recalibrated before expiration.
• Conduct root cause and corrective action on defective product
• Perform audits as required to ensure compliance to Miller CNC QMS
• Schedule and work with customer source inspectors
• Create NCMRs on appropriate product
• Bubble blue prints
• Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
Training And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent GED required and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of Aerospace standard AS9100, and ISO 9001.
Requires the use of advanced shop mathematics together with the understanding of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, etc.
